Term 4 has come and gone in a flash! The SRC wants to thank everyone in the Rivendell School community for their support this year, and want to reflect on some of the successes we’ve had in the last term of the school year:
SRC Christmas Card Competition
The Annual Rivendell SRC Christmas Card Competition took place this term, with students from all over the school submitting their festive designs. The executive team had a difficult job trying to decide the winner and runners-up as there were a lot of fantastic entries- congratulations to students GC, RK, MI, OS and RK for their tremendous efforts- they have received a pack of christmas cards with their designs on them!
Runners-up
Movember/Men's Mental Health
This term in order to recognise the importance of Movember and men’s mental health, the SRC organised for Rivendell School to participate in ‘Move for Movember’, where we attempt to walk 60km over the course of the month, in honour of the 60 men who lose their lives each hour to mental health challenges around the world. This was an important initiative to our SRC students, and we thank the community for getting involved for such a significant cause.
Presentation Day
The last event for SRC in 2022 was hosting this year’s Rivendell Presentation Day. Students from the SRC welcomed community members into the school hall, introduced staff for each of the categories of awards, and announced the Christmas Card Competition winners. It was fantastic to see our SRC students represent the school in an important way, and thank them for their hard work in ensuring the day’s success.
2022 was a fantastic year for the SRC and the school body. We want to thank the executive team at Rivendell School for their ongoing support of student-led initiatives, and look forward to working with them and the wider school community next year to continue promoting student voice around the school.

I would like to respectfully acknowledge the Wangal people who were one of the first Aboriginal people to encounter British settlers. The Wangal Clan lived in this place we now call Concord, and where Hen and Chicken Bay was an important Wangal Clan meeting place. The Wangal Clan is one of 29 clans of the Eora Nation. I would like to pay my respects to the Elders, both past, such as Bennelong, and present Elders and Aboriginal people of this land where we meet today.
