Promoting positive food habits through fun and hands-on learning.
Most programs at Rivendell School have established their own gardens where students can actively plan, propagate, maintain, and harvest different vegetables and plants.
These established gardens are also used as a springboard for other curricula and interest activities. For example: PDH, Science, healthy living, cooking, Lifeskills, and SRC led initiatives.
The gardening program has also become a weekly workshop group and sport alternative. This consistent activity not only promotes collaborative learning amongst studetns, but fosters a sense of autonomy mindfullness. It is one of our most popular co-curriculur workshops.
The school has become part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Community and we have utilised many resources and information by connecting with this program.
